Reasons for rejection of PF claim
There can be many reasons for rejection of PF claim:-
- Error in bank details- Wrong bank account number or IFSC code, bank account not linked to UAN.
- Difference in KYC details- Even a small mistake in the spelling of name, date of birth or gender recorded on your Aadhar card, PAN card or UAN portal can be a reason for claim rejection.
- UAN and Aadhaar not linked- Even if your Aadhar card is not linked to UAN, sometimes the system is not able to process the claim.
- Date of leaving job- If your previous employer has not updated the exact date of your leaving the job on the portal, your claim may also be rejected.
- Reduction in eligibility- Minimum 6 months of service is required for pension (Form 10 c). If it is less than this, the final withdrawal may be rejected.
What to do if claim is rejected?
If your PF claim is rejected, first find out the exact reason by checking the status online. After this, correct any mistakes in KYC (name, date of birth, bank details) or lack of approval from the employer and apply again through the UAN portal. If the problem still persists, you can lodge a complaint through the EPFiGMS portal or contact the EPFO office.
