India’s wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is in excellent form. He was selected as the captain of Jharkhand team in Vijay Hazare Trophy and played a century of 125 runs against Karnataka in the first match. But the surprising thing is that despite being the captain, Ishaan is not playing in the match against Rajasthan. Actually, Ishaan has left the team and gone home, and the reason behind this is BCCI.

BCCI sent him home, but why?

Kumar Kushagra, who was captaining the Jharkhand team in the match against Rajasthan, broke his silence on Ishan Kishan not playing. When Kumar Kushagra came to the field for the toss, he told that the BCCI team has sent Ishan Kishan home for rest. Kushagra also gave a good news that Ishaan will join back with the team on January 2. This means Ishan Kishan will not play for Jharkhand in the next 2 matches against Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.

Kumar Kushagra said, “The BCCI team has given rest to Ishan Kishan, due to which he has gone home. He will rejoin the team on January 2.”

Return to Team India after strong performance

Some time ago, BCCI had removed Ishan Kishan from the list of central contracts due to not playing domestic cricket. After that, Ishan Kishan was the highest run-scorer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He had scored 517 runs in 10 innings of that T20 tournament, which included 2 centuries and two half-centuries. Under Ishaan’s captaincy, Jharkhand also became the champion of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

On the basis of that strong performance, Ishan Kishan has got a place in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2026. He has also maintained his good form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, as he scored 125 runs in the very first match.
