Israeli PM Netanyahu’s first reaction on Trump’s ’50 percent ‘tariff on India, said-‘ To solve this issue … ‘

The whole world is eyeing the 50 percent tariff imposed on India by America. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday (7 August 2025) that it would be in the interest of India and America to resolve the tariff issue. He has also expressed his desire to come to India soon.

‘India-Israel is quite scope to increase cooperation’

The Israeli Prime Minister said that there is a lot of scope to increase India-Israel cooperation in areas like sharing intelligence, dealing with terrorism. This statement of Benjamin Netanyahu came after meeting with India’s Ambassador JP Singh on 7 August. Netanyahu discussed bilateral cooperation, especially security and economic issues during the meeting with the Ambassador of India. The meeting was held at Netanyahu’s office in Jerusalem.

Trump’s policy tension in India-US relations

US President Donald Trump’s new policy against India has caused tension between the two countries in the last two decades of strategic partnership. The Trump administration has imposed 50 percent tariff on Indian goods for India’s imports, while China’s energy trade has been softened with Russia.

Trump imposed 50 percent tariff on India

Trump, citing oil purchases from Russia, imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on India on Wednesday (6 August 2025), causing a total fee to 50 percent on India. This is one of the most tariffs imposed by America on any country. This additional fee will be effective after 21 days i.e. from August 27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India will never compromise on the interests of its farmers, fishermen and people associated with the dairy sector and for this it is ready to pay any price. India has described Trump’s action as unfortunate.
