Amidst the impact of the ongoing war in the Middle East, the problems of consumers regarding LPG cylinders in Noida and Greater Noida seem to be increasing. Long lines are being seen at many gas agencies since morning. Meanwhile, there have been changes in the rules of LPG. Now people will be able to book after 25 days from the delivery date, if they have a connection for 1 cylinder. It will be mandatory to give OTP at the time of delivery. Smriti Gautam, District Supply Officer in-charge of Gautam Buddha Nagar, said that there is no shortage of LPG cylinders nor petrol and diesel in the district.
At the same time, in view of this situation, Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Medha Rupam held an important meeting with the gas agency operators and concerned officials. In this meeting held at the District Collectorate in Surajpur, the DM gave clear instructions to the officials that under no circumstances should there be any shortage of domestic gas to the consumers. Besides, instructions have also been given to take strict action against those involved in black marketing of gas.

Raids to stop black marketing of gas
It was also decided in the meeting that the administration will form a team and conduct continuous raids so that black marketing does not take place anywhere. The District Magistrate has appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumours, there is adequate availability of LPG in the district. The administration says that as per the instructions of the Central Government, the district administration is fully active and it is being ensured that people do not face any problem of domestic gas.

What did Gautam Buddha Nagar in-charge District Supply Officer say?
On this entire matter, District Supply Officer in-charge of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Smriti Gautam said, “I assure everyone that adequate stocks of LPG cylinders, petrol and diesel are available in our district. There is no need to create any kind of panic situation. Only the rules of booking and delivery have changed. Now you can book the cylinder after 25 days of your last delivery date and you can book the double connection after 30 days. Those who have booked first will be given delivery first.
OTP will have to be verified on the registered mobile number.
Giving information, he further said that OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and you will have to get it verified. He said, “I appeal to the people that please buy your LPG cylinders from offline cash agencies only and not from other sources so that black marketing can be stopped. The district administration team is constantly on tour. We are ensuring that no black marketing takes place anywhere in the district. If something like this comes to our notice, action will be taken by the administration.
