Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a program organized in Guwahati, said that the one who is proud of India is a Hindu. Bhagwat has described Hindu as not just a religious but a civilizational identity. He stressed that India and Hindus are one. He termed India as a natural ‘Hindu nation’ and also emphasized on the goal of character building and unity of RSS.
RSS Chief Bhagwat said that there is no need to declare India a Hindu nation, its civilization already reveals this. He said that Hindu is not just a religious term but a civilizational identity, which is linked to thousands of years of cultural tradition. He said that India and Hindu are synonymous. There is no need for any official declaration for India to be a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. Its civilizational nature already reflects this.

Bhagwat gave the definition of RSS
Mohan Bhagwat said that RSS was founded not to oppose or harm anyone, but to focus on character building and contribute to making India a global leader. He said, the method of uniting India amid diversity is called RSS.
Concern expressed about demographic change in Assam
Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for confidence, vigilance and a strong attachment to one’s land and identity to deal with the concerns related to demographic changes in Assam. He spoke on issues such as illegal immigration, the need for a balanced population policy including the three-child norm for Hindus and the importance of opposing divisive religious conversions.
He said that we should have confidence, alertness and strong attachment to our land and culture. He also said that all sections of the society should work together selflessly in the interest of the country.
