Make a warm jacket for the tank
To prevent the water in the tank from cooling, a sheet is necessary. Thermocol is an excellent insulator. It prevents the outside cold from going in and does not allow the inside heat to go out. Take a thin thermocol sheet from the market and stick it tightly around the tank and on the lid or tie it with a rope. If thermocol is not available then use old blanket, jute sack or thick cloth. All of these are weak conductors of heat. Protects the tank from the cold air of night and keeps the heat of mild sunlight inside.

Paint the tank dark color
Sunlight is a great power in winter, one must know how to catch it in the right way. Paint the tank black, dark blue or dark brown. Science says that dark colors absorb heat faster. As soon as there is even a little sunlight during the day, the tank will absorb its heat. This will keep the water temperature better than the surrounding weather.

Warm cloth is also needed on the pipe
Often people cover the tank but ignore the pipe. Whereas real cold water is sometimes formed while passing through the pipe. Wrap the pipe coming from the tank to the tap with a jute strip, old cloth or pipe insulation cover available in the market. Open pipes remain in direct contact with cold air. Due to which the water cools down quickly. Due to cover, the effect of wind will be reduced and the warmth of the water will be maintained.
