Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned a day before the post of Vice President, is entitled to the government bungalow. An official of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry gave this information on Tuesday (July 22, 2025). Dhankhar (74) was transferred to the newly constructed Vice President Enclave on Church Road near Parliament House Complex in April last year.
The Vice President’s residence and office enclave was constructed under the Central Vista redevelopment scheme. Dhankhar will have to leave it after staying in Vice President Enclave for about 15 months. The official said, “He (Dhankhar) Lutyens Delhi or any other area will be offered to give a bungalow of type eight.” Type eight bungalow is usually allocated to senior Union ministers or presidents of national parties.
Resignation citing health reasons
Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday citing health reasons. At the same time, the Congress has said that there are more deep reasons than the health reasons given by them behind the resignation of Dhankhar. Dhankhar’s resignation of the post of Vice President on Monday night has heated up the market of such speculation whether it has been given due to ‘health’ reasons or there is ‘some other reasons’ behind it.
The ruling coalition did not respond
Usually, a highly placed person is praised for his removal, but in the case of Dhankhar, there was no such response from the ruling coalition. However, good words were said by the opposition about Dhankhar. It is different that the opposition members signed a notice last year to remove Dhankar’s alleged bias. Let us know that with the resignation of Dhankhar, a new election is scheduled for the second largest constitutional post in the country and this process can also affect many political equations.
