Interestingly, Ramesh Sippy has decided to celebrate the completion of 50 years of ‘Sholay’ by releasing it in theaters in the original uncut version. This means that the scenes which were deleted in 1975’s ‘Sholay’ can now be seen in ‘Sholay The Final Cut’.
Let us tell you that while announcing the release date of ‘Sholay The Final Cut’, the makers have also shared its poster on Instagram. Whose glimpse of Thakur and Gabbar is visible. Along with this, the release date of the film has also been announced in the post. Which reads, “‘Sholay: The Final Cut’ in theaters on December 12, 2025, experience for the first time the original uncut version, restored in 4k and Dolby 5.1 by the Film Heritage Foundation.”

What makes this release historic is that the original uncut end of the film has been shown again in it. Which will be shown publicly on screen for the first time in five decades. Before its release in 1975, its climax was changed due to the strict censorship imposed during the Emergency in India.
