A major accident took place on Sunday (August 24) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. During a religious program here, at least 30 women were injured when the roof of the first floor of a house fell.
Officials said that women had gathered in a house in Poharupeth village for a religious program when the roof suddenly fell, which injured some of them. He said that the incident took place at around two and a half in the afternoon and the injured were immediately taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Handwara.
30 women injured
Hospital Medical Superintendent Aizaz Ahmed said that about 30 injured women have come to us and the condition of all is stable. He said that there is no need to panic.
According to the information, the roof fell in Pohru Lunget, in which many women were injured. According to officials, this accident happened when a slab of the house where Dini Ijtima (religious gathering) was being held suddenly collapsed.
Not a matter of concern- doctor
Many women involved in the meeting were injured in this accident. Dr. Ejaz, Medical Superintendent of GMC Handwara, confirmed that all the injured have been brought to the hospital for treatment. He said that everyone has suffered minor injuries and is not a matter of concern.
