The anti-terrorism campaign in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir is now going on for the 7th day. 3 security forces personnel were injured in an encounter on Thursday. According to officials, this is the longest this year’s longest operation.

Nalin Prabhat, the head of Jammu and Kashmir Police, went and inspected the campaign site and took stock of the situation. At the same time, Army Northern Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma also reviewed the security system and anti -terrorism system in South Kashmir. He praised the jawans’ encouragement and way of working.

Soldier injured during encounter

According to officials, 3 soldiers have been injured in the encounter on Thursday morning, while so far a total of 7 soldiers have been injured in this campaign. Security forces are using all modern techniques including drones and helicopters to find terrorists.

Two terrorists killed

The encounter started when the security forces received special intelligence information about the presence of terrorists in the Akhl forest area of South Kashmir. After this, a search operation started by siege.

Firing started between the two sides on Friday, but firing was stopped at night. The encounter started again on Saturday in which two terrorists were killed. Their group and identity have not been ascertained yet.

Security forces have tightened the siege and additional jawans have been deployed so that the operation was successful. Along with Police Chief Nalin Prabhat, Deputy Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi and other senior officers are also present in Kulgam. He inquired about the ongoing campaign, strategies and deployment of soldiers on the spot.

Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma appreciated the hard work and patience of the soldiers on Twitter (now X), saying that their commitment is strengthening peace and security in the area. He thanked all the soldiers that they are working with full force while playing their duty.

The longest campaign in Kashmir Valley

This campaign is the longest anti -terrorism campaign in Kashmir Valley so far this year. In Kulgam, security forces are constantly working hard to catch terrorists and make the area safe.

Officials say that security forces are engaged in finding terrorists using drones, helicopters and other techniques in a difficult area. The encounter continues and the soldiers have been instructed to be vigilant.
