National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has said that if the constitution of the country is to be respected, then the status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir should be restored. He said that if the local government had the responsibility of security, the terrorist attack in Pahalgam could have been postponed. In response to a question asked about the increasing demand to restore state status to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said, “It is not a question of being hopeful.”

He said, “If the Constitution of India is to be respected, then the states should never be converted into union territories. Union Territory is converted into the state. (But) The tragedy is that he converted a state into a union territory. And what did they achieve? ”

,The promise to end terrorism was promised

Abdullah mentioned that when Article 370 was neutralized on August 5, 2019 six years ago, “promised” was that “terrorism would end”. He said, “Is terrorism ended?” Or has it increased? The Center must answer this in Parliament.

,All opposition parties are fighting for us in Parliament,

Abdullah said that people were “expecting” that state status would be announced soon to Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Already, all opposition parties are fighting for us in Parliament too … You must have seen a letter written by Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) recently (Congress President Mallikarjun), which has demanded to restore state status.”

Abdullah reminded that the Central Government had “made promises to us and also promised in the Supreme Court.” Three times, Abdullah, the Chief Minister of the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, questioned the intention of the Center behind reducing the status of the state.

He said, “And what did he get?” When he did so, he said that terrorism will end because Article 370 is responsible for him. For the last six years, they have been ruling for five years before the election. The former Union Minister questioned, “And even today, he has control over security and everything else. Is terrorism ended? Or has it increased? ”

,The Lieutenant Governor should have resigned,

Considering the current situation, Abdullah expressed regret over the lack of control of the government elected by the public on security and administrative matters. He said that if the local government had taken over the responsibility of security, then the recent Pahalgam terror attack could have been postponed.

Referring to the Accepting the failure of security in Pahalgam by the Lieutenant Governor, Abdullah said, “I am happy that the Lieutenant Governor has accepted his failure.” They should have dared to resign. ”

,Why Jammu and Kashmir was denied Rajya Sabha elections,

Abdullah pointed to deep silence when the four seats of Jammu and Kashmir remained vacant in the Rajya Sabha and called it a “tragedy”. He said, “Why was Jammu and Kashmir deprived of Rajya Sabha elections?” Not only this, two seats are vacant in the assembly. What is the Election Commission doing? ” The head of the National Conference rejected the internal discord in the party.

,War is never a solution to any problem,
