Lashkar-e-taiba news: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has claimed to arrest three terrorist associates associated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) in Badgam district of Central Kashmir on Friday afternoon. Arrests were made in Kavusa Narbal area of ​​Magam during a security campaign amidst ongoing efforts to eliminate the terrorist network.

The arrested persons have been identified as Muzamil Ahmed, Ishfaq Pandit (both residents of Agalar Pattan) and Munir Ahmed resident Meeripora Birwah. A pistol and a grenades including arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession.

Work was to include youth in terrorism

Terrorist allies were working on his instructions and were assigned to carry out terrorist activities in the area as well as to involve other youth in terrorism and woo them. During the investigation, it was revealed that the arrested person was in close contact with Abid Qayoom Loan, an active Lashkar terrorist in Wusan Pattan area of ​​Baramulla.

Abid fled to Pakistan in 2020 and after receiving weapons training, he joined Lashkar-e-Taiba’s terrorist organization and is currently working as a handler and is currently working from Pakistan.

Police said Abid was involved in making local youths radical, motivating them to join terrorist ranks and directing them to carry out activities related to terrorism in the Narbal-Magam area of ​​District Budgam.

In this regard, a case has been registered at the police station Magam under the relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and further investigation has been started.
