Janta curfew: Five years ago, on this day, there was silence on the streets across the country. This was the first time in the history of India, when the country was completely silent from north to south and from east to west. This was the day of public curfew i.e. curfew imposed by the public.
In fact, on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of the country voluntarily decided to stay in homes. There was no restriction on the exit of the people, but despite this, people across the country decided not to go out of the house. This call was made to be aware of the growing outbreak of Korona epidemics.
The central government wanted to take the seriousness of the Korona epidemic to the people and also wanted people to start adopting precautions to avoid it. For this purpose, this ‘Janata curfew’ was called. However, it was later clear that in fact this public curfew was for a way to prepare for lockdown.

On this day, the country saw a memorable scene. From 7 o’clock in the morning, the silence that was spread, it turned into a festival by evening. At 5 pm, in every corner of the country, people came to the balcony and roof of the houses and started clapping, plate and bells. Whatever he got, he started playing it.

68 -day lockdown after public curfew
This public curfew started from 7 am on 22 March and lasted till 9 pm. After this, everything went normal for two days. Then on the evening of 24, PM Modi announced a lockdown. A total of 21 days strict lockdown was installed. This lockdown was to end on 14 April but it continued to grow. Lockdown time was extended for 19 days in Phase-2, 14 days in Phase-3 and 14 days in Phase-4. In this way the country saw the lockdown for 68 days. This lockdown remained till 31 May. After this, from June 1, gradually relieved in lockdown.

How much help in preventing the coronic epidemic from this lockdown, it is not clear, but after suddenly the lockdown, the country saw the scene which had never seen before. Millions of laborers were seen running from cities to villages. The one who got the vehicle, he was forced to walk hundreds of kilometers from the vehicles.
