Jasprit bumrah test captain: After Rohit Sharma’s Test retirement, Jasprit Bumrah was being seen as an alternative to the new Test captain of Team India. Now a new update has come out that Jaspreet Bumrah has taken himself out of the race of new captain (India New Test Captain 2025). It has also been revealed that after Rohit’s retirement, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are leading the race to become a new captain.
According to the famous England media channel Sky Sports, Jasprit Bumrah does not want to become the new captain of the Indian Test team. The reason for this has been told that due to the workload management, Bumrah does not want to play 5 Test matches on the tour of England. Recall that Bumrah could not play in the Champions Trophy due to injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Bumrah will not play all 5 Tests
Jasprit Bumrah is not in favor of playing all the 5 Test matches in the series against England due to workload management. In such a situation, the selectors can choose a player who can play in the team regularly for captaincy. That is why Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant seem to have a chance to become captain of one. There is speculation that there may be a meeting between the selectors regarding the new captain next week. Out of these 2 names, whoever is not captained, can be given the role of vice -captain.
Rohit Sharma’s successor
Earlier, according to the news agency PTI, Shubman Gill can be declared the successor of Rohit Sharma in the Test and Rishabh Pant can become vice -captain. Let us tell you that Gill has already become the vice -captain of India’s ODI team.
