This four -day festival, which runs from 31 August to 3 September, was canceled a few hours before the sudden start. The reason behind this created a ruckus on the internet, after which the anger of the users reached the seventh sky.
What was the reason for Javed Akhtar’s program being canceled?
Nuzhat Jaina, secretary of the academy, issued a press note saying that this program is being postponed due to “compulsory circumstances”. Although the reason was not stated in clear terms, but later it was revealed that two Islamic organizations objected to Javed Akhtar’s call. In fact, Javed Akhtar calls himself an atheist and sometimes has an opinion on religion and religious institutions. Their identity was passed on to some organizations. It is reported that Muslim organizations like Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Yogyaan Foundation protested and pressurized it. As a result, the government and the academy postponed the entire event to avoid deteriorating the atmosphere.

Javed Akhtar himself said in a conversation with the media … “As I said, all this has happened due to mandatory circumstances.” Although he saved himself from making more comments, his supporters and large parts considered it an attack on freedom of expression.
