There is big news for lakhs of students dreaming of making a career in engineering. National Testing Agency has released the city intimation slip of JEE Main 2026 Session-1. Through this slip, candidates can know in which city their examination will be held.
This information is given before the examination so that students can make travel and accommodation arrangements in time. More than 14.5 lakh students have registered for the first session of JEE Main 2026. NTA has provided city intimation slip for all these candidates so that everyone can get information about their examination city in time.
Many students have this question in their mind that what is City Intimation Slip? If understood in simple language, it is an information sheet, in which only the city and probable date of the examination is mentioned. It does not contain the complete address or hall number of the examination center. All this information is given in the admit card to be issued later.
When will JEE Main 2026 exam be held?
JEE Main Session-1 examination will be conducted from January 21 to January 29, 2026. The examination will be held in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will run from 3 pm to 6 pm. The examination will be conducted completely in computer based test mode.

BE/B.Tech (Paper-1) examination will be held from 21 to 29 January 2026. The date of examination of B.Arch and B.Planning (Paper-2) will be mentioned separately in the city slip of the candidates.
Difference between city slip and admit card
Often students consider the city slip as the admit card, which is wrong. The city slip contains only the information about the exam city and date. The complete address of the examination centre, reporting time, shift details and necessary instructions are given in the admit card. Without admit card, you will not be allowed to enter the examination center.
When will the admit card be released?
The admit card of JEE Main 2026 will be released by NTA about three to four days before the examination. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website regularly.

- First of all go to the official website of JEE Main jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the link “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 City Intimation Slip” given on the homepage.
- Now enter your application number and date of birth.
- Enter the security PIN shown on the screen and submit.
- After this, your city slip will appear on the screen, which you can download and print.
