Bihar Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has clarified that it can field as an independent political party apart from the India alliance in the Bihar assembly elections. The party’s central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya while talking to the media at the party office on Monday (June 16, 2025) said that we have our own organization in Bihar and we are ready to land on our own.
In fact, the India alliance had recently organized two meetings for the preparations for the Bihar assembly elections and the sharing of seats, but the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha did not get any invitation for this. On the question of media in this regard, the General Secretary of JMM said, “If they are not calling us, we are not even going to enter there. It is our independent identity and it is certain that we will showcase our power there.”
‘We have to his only MLA…’
Bhattacharya further said, “We want to tell the Congress and RJD that in Jharkhand we kept them with us and gave proper respect. In the last assembly election, RJD had won only one seat in Jharkhand, but we kept his only MLA in the cabinet for a full five years. This is because we had come together in the election field and we should show all the coalition religion.
Please tell that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has been fielding its candidates in Bihar assembly elections even before this. In 2010, JMM candidate won the Chakai assembly seat. This time the party has identified 12 assembly seats adjacent to Jharkhand in Bihar, where it has influence. These seats include Tarapur, Katoria, Manihari, Jhajha, Banka, Thakurganj, Rupauli, Rampur, Banmankhi, Jamalpur, Pirpainti and Chakai.
The party believes that there is a large population of the tribal community in these areas, the policies of its tribal interest in these areas and the work done in Jharkhand can attract voters. JMM has already started meeting with local leaders and workers in these seats.
