An FIR has been registered against BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Manoj Tiwari and others for allegedly forcibly entering the sanctum sanctorum of Baba Baidyanath temple during the month of Shravan.
Police say the matter is on the night of August 2, when the MP and the people accompanying them reached the sanctum sanctorum despite the VIP ban applicable to the common devotees at the Shravan fair.
What is the whole matter
The Shravan Mela is currently going on in the Baba Baidyanath temple of Deoghar, in which millions of kanwadis come to offer water. The administration has banned VIP and VVIP entry during this month for security and mob control.
Priest Karthik Nath Thakur complained to the police that between 8:45 am and 9 pm on August 2, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Manoj Tiwari, Kanishkant Dubey, Seshadri Dubey and others broke the rules and entered the sanctum sanctorum.
Accused of chaos in the crowd
According to the complaint, in an attempt to stop the entry of MPs, the policemen were scrambled. During this time, there was chaos among thousands of devotees present there and a situation like stampede became a situation. The priest also said that the MP entered the sanctum sanctorum during the ritual ‘Kancha Jal Puja’, which caused disruption in the worship.
The police have registered a case under several sections of the Indian Justice Code at Baba Baidyanath Temple police station. These include allegations of hurting religious sentiments, obstructing religious traditions, creating obstruction in government work and scuffle with policemen. The FIR was recorded on 7 August.
MP Nishikant Dubey’s response
Nishikant Dubey wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ (East Twitter), ‘This is the case due to worship, so far 51 cases are registered against me. Tomorrow, I will go to the police station directly from Deoghar Airport and arrest them.
Shravan fair runs a month
In the month of Shravan, Kawandiyas walk about 105 kilometers from Sultanganj in Bihar and offer water to Baba Baidyanath Dham. This time the Shravan fair has been going on for a month and so far about 55 lakh devotees have offered water here. In such a situation, the mob remains a big challenge for management and security administration.
