Jamia Millia Islamia has started the admission process for PhD for the academic session 2025-26. The university has issued an official notification in this regard. Interested and eligible candidates can now apply online on the official website admission.jmi.ac.in. The last date for application has been set as 8 November 2025. For this process, candidates will have to deposit an application fee of Rs 2,000 through online mode.
Jamia Millia Islamia has received A++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to the notification, after the last date of application, candidates will get a chance to make corrections in the online form on 9th and 10th November. This step ensures that no candidate is left behind due to errors in their application.
Jamia PhD entrance examination will be conducted on 15 and 16 November 2025. The result of the exam will be declared between 27th to 29th November. Successful candidates will have to submit their research proposals to the concerned department by 8th December.
interview process
The list of candidates selected for interview will be released on 9 December. Interviews will be held between 10 and 19 December. The list of final selected candidates will be published on 22 December.

These are important dates
All the formalities related to admission can be completed from 23 to 30 December 2025. Classes will start from 13 January 2026. The university has also clarified that asking the right questions at the right time enhances student thinking, innovation and team communication, which is essential for research and academic growth.
