After getting approval from the cabinet of the state government, the process of recruitment to the posts of librarian has now reached the final stage. The Education Department has asked the Finance Department to complete the process of salary determination of these posts soon. It is believed that as soon as this work is completed, the recruitment notification will be issued in December 2025.
It is said that there is a possibility of recruitment on more than 4000 posts in the state, which will provide employment opportunity to thousands of youth. Media reports say that the preparations of the department are very fast this time and the government wants that the posts lying vacant for years should be filled soon.
The door of librarian recruitment is opening again after 14 years
The biggest thing is that the recruitment of librarian in Bihar was stopped for the last 14 years. The last appointment to this post was made in 2011-12. Since then the posts became vacant continuously, but recruitment was not done. Because of this, many schools and colleges had libraries, but did not have permanent staff to run them.
Now the Education Department has made it clear that this time there will be a large number of recruitments and efforts will be made to fill most of the vacant posts, so that students can get better facilities in the library.

To join this recruitment, the candidate must have passed Bachelor’s degree in Library Science with 45% marks. 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category, disabled and women candidates. That means, for the candidates of these categories, it is sufficient to have 40% marks in graduation. Apart from this, it will also be necessary for the candidate to pass the eligibility test.

The minimum age for librarian recruitment has been kept at 21 years. The most important thing is that according to the new rules, a relaxation of 10 years will be given in the maximum age limit. Its benefit will be available to those candidates whose age has increased after the previous reinstatement. Also, in the new recruitment, 35% of the total posts can be reserved for women. With this, many girl students and women candidates of the state will get a good opportunity for government jobs.

- Then complete the registration by filling your information in New Registration (One Time Registration).
- Now after registration, login, fill the remaining information and upload the documents.
