Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor should have a postgraduate degree with at least 55 percent marks from a recognized university. Along with this, the candidate has also passed the National Eligibility Test (NET). The purpose of these eligibility is to ensure that the selected candidates can provide quality teaching in higher education institutions.
The minimum age of candidates for this recruitment is 21 years and maximum age is 40 years. However, reserved category candidates will be given a relaxation in age limit. SC and ST class will get five years and OBC class will get the benefit of three years exemption. In this way, the Commission has tried to give equal opportunities to all sections.
Selection in this recruitment will be done through two stages. First of all, the candidates will have to take the preliminary examination. It will have 120 multiple choice questions, which will have a total assessment of 150 marks. Candidates will get two hours to complete this exam.
Candidates who are successful in the preliminary examination will be included in the main examination. In the main examination, the subject knowledge of the candidates, the ability to understand deeply and analytical skills will be examined. The final selection will be based on the marks and merit list received in both examinations.
