A three-day international symposium on ‘Integration of Smart Technologies in Healthcare and Management’ was inaugurated on Thursday under the joint aegis of Patanjali University (UoP) and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). In this event, experts from America’s Global Knowledge Foundation (GKF), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and University of Maryland shared their insights on global health improvement.

Revered Ayurveda Shiromani Acharya Balkrishna ji welcomed the guests as the keynote speaker. In his address, he said that Indian Sanatan tradition gives the message of longevity and harmony with nature. He stressed that today the world is becoming a ‘global village’ through the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and technologies like Internet of Things (IoT). Analysis of health data through wearable sensors and smart medical devices is now making treatment more accurate.
Importance of AI and Ethics
Director of IIT Mandi Prof. Laxmidhar Behera underlined the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern life and described the inclusion of ethics in it as essential. At the same time, Dr. Dev Sharma, who came from America, while emphasizing on digital health management and cyber security, said that AI-based systems will give a new direction to personalized treatment selection analysis.
Emphasis on quality and research
Bureau of Indian Standards Director Sachin Chaudhary expressed the need to ensure national standards and safety in health services. Presenting the outline of the program, Dr. Vedapriya Arya, Head of Patanjali Herbal Research, linked Agritech, soil testing and AI-based agricultural entrepreneurship with the resolve of self-reliant India.
During the seminar, the guests also released a ‘Saar Pustak’. This event made it clear that the integration of ancient Indian knowledge and modern smart technologies will form the basis of advanced healthcare of the future. In the program Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Vice Chancellor Prof. Many scientists and researchers including Mayank Kumar Aggarwal were present.
