On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya (29 January 2025) in Prayagraj Mahakumbh (Maha Kumbh 2025), there was a stampede due to increasing crowd before bathing. 30 devotees were killed in this stampede accident while many devotees were injured. The Judicial Inquiry Commission was formed by the UP government to investigate the Mahakumbh stampede, now the Judicial Inquiry Commission will record the statements of common citizens.
During Mahakumbh 2025, the Commission formed to investigate the Sangam Noj on the festival of Mauni Amavasya has sought evidence and videos from the common citizens about the stampede. The Commission has been asked to provide videos and evidence in two weeks. Any person can send evidence and video to the judicial commission through WhatsApp number and email ID in two weeks.
The identity sending video will be confidential
Apart from this, any person can directly give evidence and video to the office at Lucknow Vikas Bhavan. It has also been said that the identity of the person giving video and evidence will be kept confidential. A three -member committee headed by retired Justice Harsh Kumar of the stampede on the day of Mauni Amavasya is investigating.

More than 66 crore people took holy dip in the confluence
According to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, “Mahakumbh-2025, starting from Paush Purnima, Mahakumbh-2025, February 26 in Prayagraj today, till the date of Mahashivratri, more than 66 crore 21 lakh devotees got the virtuous benefit of bathing in the holy Triveni in a total of 45 days till the date of Mahashivratri.”
