Delhi high court judge: The committee constituted to investigate the allegations against Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Verma has started functioning. This committee of three judges first visited Justice Verma’s house. This team was present there for about 45 minutes. During this time, the three judges inspected the room where there was a fire on the night of 14 March and allegedly found a large amount of burnt cash. The judges also took initial information from the people present at the house about the incident.
Around 1 pm, Chief Justice Sheel Nagu of Punjab-Haryana High Court, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court GS Sandhavalia and Judge Justice Anu Shivraman of Karnataka High Court reached 30 Tughlaq Crescent. It is the official government residence of Justice Yashwant Verma. Along with the three judges, his staff and security personnel also reached the house of Justice Verma.
At around 1:45, the three judges left Justice Verma’s house. During this time, the people present with him also made a video of the incident. It is being told that now this committee will meet Delhi Police Commissioner and the head of Delhi Fire Department. After this, the three judges will also talk to the policemen and the employees of the fire department who reached the house of Justice Verma on the day of the fire incident. Apart from this, the committee will also interact with Justice Verma’s staff and family members.
It is also being told that the members of the committee will meet Justice Yashwant Verma after gathering initial information. If the committee feels necessary, then Justice Verma can be met more than once. An important responsibility before the committee is that he should get a technical investigation of the 6-month call data records of Justice Verma and his staff, so that it can be known which people have been in talks.
On the orders of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Verma has been told that he does not have to destroy his personal mobile phone at the moment. Also, no chat from the phone is not to be erased. All these things under investigation. In such a situation, it is obvious that the committee of judges will conduct technical checks of Justice Verma’s phone. Apart from this, Financial Transaction of Justice Verma is also under investigation. The committee has to give a detailed investigation to the Chief Justice of India. In such a situation, this is just the beginning. This investigation may take several days to complete.
