Mpca president election: The Great Aryaman Scindia, son of Union Minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, has been elected unopposed president of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA). Aryaman Scindia is the Vice President of Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA).
Aryaman, the third generation of the third generation of the former dynasty of Gwalior, is ready to take over the reins of this organization as the youngest president in the history of MPCA established in 1957. He is 29 years old.
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of MPCA, Rohit Pandit said on Monday that all the posts of the executive including the president were elected unopposed in the MPCA elections and thus the entire executive has been unanimously elected.
AGM meeting will be stamped
He informed that the newly elected executive of MPCA will be finalized in the annual general assembly (AGM) held on September 2 (Tuesday), after which the executive officials will take charge.
Pandit said that Vineet Sethia Vice President, Sudhir Asani Secretary, Arundhati Kirkire Joint Secretary and Sanjeev Dua have been elected treasurer in the new executive of MPCA.
He said that the newly elected members of the managing committee of MPCA include Sandhya Aggarwal, Prasoon Kanmadikar, Rajiv Risodkar and Vijesh Rana, while the cricket committee has given Pradeep Banerjee, Ramanik Patel and Abhay Laghte place in the cricket committee.
What did the outgoing president say?
Abhilash Khandekar, the outgoing chairman of MPCA, said, “The MPCA has achieved many achievements during the last six years. I hope that the newly elected executive led by the great Aryaman Scindia will take MPCA to new heights. ”
The activism of the great Aryaman in the corridors of cricket has been seen increasing continuously in three years. The Great Aryaman was appointed as the Vice President of GDCA in 2022. He was made a lifetime member of MPCA in 2022 itself.
The T20 Cricket League of the Great Aryaman state is also the President of the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL). He started his MPL from his hometown Gwalior in 2024.
Jyotiraditya Scindia has also been the president of MPCA
By the way, the Scindia family has been in the cricket administration of the state for a long time and the family has been dominated by this family for the last several decades. The late grandfather of the great Aryaman, Madhavrao Scindia and his father Jyotiraditya Scindia have also been the president of MPCA.
Kabina minister of Madhya Pradesh government Kailash Vijayvargiya challenged the domination of the Scindia family in MPCA 15 years ago. There was a direct fight between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Kailash Vijayvargiya in the 2010 elections of MPCA.
In these elections, Jyotiraditya Scindia defeated Vijayvargiya by 70 votes in the post of MPCA president. In these elections, the powerful Scindia camp had captured all the major positions of the executive by cleaning the newly-wide Vijayvargiya faction.
Jyotiraditya Scindia was at that time in the Congress -led United Progressive Alliance government at the Center, while the Vijayvargiya was holding the position of the minister of the same department in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of the state.
Jyotiraditya Scindia had to leave the post
Due to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, senior cricket administrators like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sanjay Jagdale had to leave their important positions of MPCA in January 2017 as both of them had been more than nine years since they lived in different positions of the management committee of this organization. As a result, according to the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, he became ineligible to take over in this organization.
Jyotiraditya Scindia left the Congress in the year 2020 and joined the BJP. The Kailash Vijayvargiya faction in MPCA and Jyotiraditya Scindia camp have already ended.
