Thug life controversy: Actor and politician Kamal Haasan’s film Thug Life is coming and the controversy related to the film is not taking the name of stopping. During an event on May 28, Kamal Haasan said in Chennai that Kannada language is born from Tamil. During the promotion of thug life, he spoke ‘Ure Urave Tamheehe’ at the beginning of his speech. It means – my life and my family is in Tamil language.
Referring to Kannada actor Shivrajkumar in this program, he said, “My family is there, hence he (Shivrajkumar) has come here.” I started my speech as life, family and Tamil. Your language (Kannada) is born from Tamil. So you are also included in the family.
What happened after this?
After this, Kamal Haasan’s film got caught in controversies. After his controversial remarks, there were protests in Karnataka. He was severely criticized. State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra targeted the actor and described his comment as rude. He accused Kamal Haasan of insulting Kannada and his speakers.
- Activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike tore the posters of ‘Thug Life’ in Bangalore and issued a possible statewide ban warning on the film. Kamal Haasan was also demanded to apologize unconditionally.
- The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has announced that thugs will be banned if Kamal Haasan does not apologize on the language issue.
- On May 30, one has also been detained after burning a picture of Kamal Haasan. Taking automatic cognizance on Friday, Basaveshwarnagar police registered an FIR under sections 270 and 283 of BNS. The 33 -year -old man named Ravikumar, a 33 -year -old, has been detained by the police. Along with this, an FIR has also been registered against Karunada Yuva Sena members.
Kamal Haasan said- will not apologize
