‘Kantara Chapter 1’ looted the box office on the second weekend, but could not beat this record of ‘Chhaava’.

Rishabh Shetty’s ‘Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1’ was released in theaters on October 2. Since then this film has been making many records. Due to its brilliant performance, this film has already become the 12th biggest hit of Indian cinema and the second biggest hit of 2025. This period action thriller had made the record of highest grossing in the year 2025 in its first week. But in the second weekend, Kantara Chapter 1 has proved to be a failure in breaking Chhaava’s record of highest grossing film.

‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is ruling the box office. This film had earned Rs 337.4 crore in the first week of its release. On its second Friday, the film added another Rs 22.25 crore. Whereas on the second Saturday, the film earned Rs 39 crore with a jump of 75% and on the second Sunday it collected Rs 40 crore. With this the total collection of the second weekend became Rs 101.25 crore. The total collection of the film in 11 days has been Rs 438.65 crore.

In comparison, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ had earned Rs 219.25 crore in its first week. On the second weekend, it earned Rs 23.5 crore on Friday, Rs 44 crore on Saturday and Rs 40 crore on Sunday. With this, the total collection of the second weekend of the film became Rs 107.5 crore. In this way it became the second highest grossing weekend collection of 2025. In the second week, the film starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna had earned Rs 180 crore. Due to which the total collection of the film exceeded Rs 600 crores.

However, this film has a chance to earn a lot this week too because Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Thama’ and Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ are releasing on October 21. Till then this film can easily print good notes at the box office.
