Senior Advocate and Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Kapil Sibal has been honored by lawyers. Under the leadership of Kapil Sibal, the SCBA has raised around Rs 45 crore, which will be used in medical insurance and other economic benefits for lawyers. Kapil Sibal said that no one from businessman Mukesh Ambani to Torrent Group refused him.
According to SCBA, 43 crore 43 lakh 50 thousand rupees have been collected under the Corporation Social Responsecuate (CSR) Initiative. Corporation was part of Kapil Sibal’s campaign during the election of the Corporation Social Responsions Initiative SCBA president. Inside the Supreme Court premises, the Friday Group honored Kapil Sibal as such a huge amount could be collected under his leadership. The Friday Group is a group of lawyers of the Supreme Court.
Kapil Sibal said that this amount is not for him but for the family, which he himself is part. He said that after becoming the president of SCBA, he asked the person associated with insurance that how much amount would be needed for a scheme that cover the whole life of the lawyers, then he was told that 120 crores would be required. Kapil Sibal said that then he told himself that he would raise 60 crores.
