Karnataka MLA-mlc salary: The Government of Karnataka is soon to bring the Legislature Salary, Pension and Allowance (Amendment) Bill, 2025. Under this, the salary of Karnataka Chief Minister and ministers to MLAs, members of the Legislative Council will be increased. Their allowance will also be increased hugely.
According to media reports, it is proposed to double the salary of the Chief Minister, Minister and MLAs in this bill. The salary of the Chief Minister is proposed to increase from Rs 75 thousand to Rs 1.5 lakh per month and the salary of ministers from 60 thousand rupees to 1.25 lakh. The salary of the MLAs is to be increased from 40 thousand to 80 thousand and the salary of the Speaker of the Assembly and the Chairman of the Legislative Council is to be increased from Rs 75 thousand to Rs 1.25 lakh.
Apart from these, there is a plan to increase the salary of the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, the Deputy Speaker, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, the ruling party and the Chief Whip of the opposition. Along with increasing the salary, the amount of all the allowances from the food, house and travel to these public representatives has also been increased.
Chairman and speaker salary and allowances
Salary: Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.25 lakh
Food allowance: 4 lakh rupees to 5 lakh rupees
House Rent Allowance: Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 2 lakh
Miscellaneous Reimbursement Allowance (MRA): Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000
Daily allowance (outside the state): Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000
Housing Allowance: Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000
Salary and allowance of Deputy Chairman and Deputy Speaker
Salary: 60,000 rupees to 80,000
Food allowance: 2.5 lakh rupees to 3 lakh rupees
Salary and allowance of Leader of Opposition
Salary: Rs 60,000 to 80,000 rupees
Food allowance: 2.5 lakh rupees to 3 lakh rupees
Salary and allowance of the Chief Whip of the Government
Salary: Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000
Food allowance: 2.5 lakh rupees to 3 lakh rupees
Chief whip of opposition Salary and allowances of
Salary: Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000
Food allowance: 2.5 lakh rupees to 3 lakh rupees
Legislators and legislative councilors Salary and allowances of
Salary: Rs 40,000 to 80,000 rupees
Pension: Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000
Additional Pension: Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000
Additional travel allowance (with partner): 1 lakh rupees to 2 lakh rupees
Former member medical allowance: Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000
Fixed medical allowance: Rs 2,500 to Rs 10,000
Constituency Travel Allowance: Rs 60,000 to 80,000 rupees
Railway/Air Fare (Annual): Rs 2.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh rupees
Telephone fee: Rs 20,000 to Rs 35,000
Constituency allowance: Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.1 lakh
Postal Fee: Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000
Personal assistant and room boy salary: Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000
