Bengaluru chinnaswamy stampede update: After the RCB’s title victory in IPL 2025, the High Court has reserved its order while hearing a bail plea filed on behalf of four accused arrested in the case of stampede and deaths outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Karnataka High Court will pronounce the verdict tomorrow at 2:30 pm on Thursday, on the petition of 3 other accused, including Nikhil Sosh. Earlier, during the hearing of the case, the state government counsel said that the program to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium was a kind of agreement between three people- RCB, BCCI and Karnataka State Cricket Association. The permission of the police administration was not taken for this.
During the hearing of the petition filed on behalf of RCB’s marketing manager Nikhil Sose, the state government counsel said that if any such program was prepared by RCB, he had not informed the state government and the police in advance of this program. However, 1 hour before the final, the police were told by the RCB that they are preparing to do the program in this manner and to take out the Victory Parade, if the RCB wins, but that too was not only given permission.
The state government’s counsel said that if permission was to be taken, for such a program, at least 7 days ago should have been taken. Everyone was publicly invited for this program, whereas only the followers of RCB are in lakhs. In such a situation, there was no explanation about who is being called or who is not.
When the court asked the state government counsel, in this sense you are saying that the entire program was also organized illegally. If this is the case then action should be taken in that way. The government’s counsel said that because no one had complete information about the program to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Thousands of people started gathering above different gates of Chinnaswamy Stadium and as a result, there was a stampede.
Justifying Nikhil’s arrest, the government lawyer argued that if the matter was arrested, he bought a ticket for air travel at around 11 pm and a flight of 4 in the morning, which clearly shows that he wanted to leave Bengaluru without police information.
On behalf of the state government, the court was told that the investigation was transferred to the CID on June 5 and the CID has registered a case from June 6 and took forward the investigation. What did the public give invitations about the program to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium, but it was not told how many people will get free tickets. Meanwhile, the government lawyer also made it clear that the government had nothing to do with this program, it was a complete RCB program.
The counsel for the accused said that when the CID registered the case on the 6th, on what basis these accused were arrested on the night of 5, along with the information and documents that were given to the accused at the time of arrest, they were not given information and documents. The lawyer of the accused said that the arrest of these people in this case was made because the Chief Minister of the state had directed the arrest.
The lawyer of the accused said that you accused the accused that they called the winning team to celebrate the victory at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in such a way that the Deputy Chief Minister of the state had also called the winning team. The state government counsel said that the program that was done to celebrate the victory had nothing to do with the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
