Karnataka High Court put a stay on the order of Congress government, allegations were made of targeting RSS activities

The Congress government in Karnataka has suffered a major setback. In fact, the government had recently directed that if private organizations want to organize any program in government buildings or premises, they will have to take permission first, but now the Dharwad bench of the High Court has put an interim stay on this order of the government. This decision has been given by the single bench of Justice Nagaprasanna. The court has fixed November 17 for the next hearing of the case. Many people had described this order as an attempt to ban RSS related activities. After the court’s decision, this rule will not be applicable till the next hearing.

This petition was filed by an organization named Pushchetanya Seva Sansthan. The organization says that this order of the government violates the legitimate rights of private organizations and prevents them from carrying out their social or cultural activities.

What was the government’s order?

This order of the government was issued earlier this month, in which it was said that no private or social organization can organize programs, meetings or cultural events in government schools, college grounds or institutional premises without written permission. Along with this, instructions were given to the district level administration to ensure that the order is followed and in case of violation, action should be taken under Karnataka Land Revenue and Education Acts.

However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil had clarified that this order is not to target any particular organization. “This is not against any particular institution. Government property should be used only with proper permission and for the right purpose. Any violation will be dealt with under existing laws,” he said.
