The Supreme Court has rejected the demand for an investigation into the alleged honeytrap scandal of Karnataka. The court described it as a political matter of meaningless and said that he has better job than listening to it. The judges also questioned why the petitioner from Jharkhand is concerned about the incident in Karnataka.
What is the matter?
A senior Congress minister KN Rajanna has accused some people of his own party of honeytraping 48 people, including ministers, senior leaders and judges. He accused this in the assembly on 20 March. It is being said that due to the involvement of the people of the Congress in the case, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is talking to the party high command before the investigation.

The bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath did not appear to be keen on hearing the case. Justice Nath called it a political matter of useless. The judges also asked the petitioner’s counsel Barun Sinha why the person from Jharkhand is so worried about the case of Karnataka. The lawyer described the petitioner as a socially active person and a regular article for Panchajanya magazine.
‘The trap that took place, is also the result’
The petitioner’s counsel also cited the judges in the case to be targeted. He demanded a CBI inquiry under the supervision of the Supreme Court or the formation of the SIT under the chairmanship of a retired judge, but the court said, ‘Those who let themselves get trapped in the honeytrap, let it be the result of it. There is no need for our intervention.
