The Kolkata Knight Riders team organized an intra-squad match between its teams before entering the tournament. A practice match was played by forming teams of Purple Knights and Golden Knights. In this exciting match till the last ball, the winning team was decided through run out. Karthik Tyagi took 3 wickets in a single over against the Purple Knights and this bowler was also the real hero of the victory of the Golden Knights. Golden Knights had scored 249 runs at the loss of 5 wickets, but Purple Knights were given a revised target of 190 runs based on VJD rules.

Karthik Tyagi has made his mark in the IPL with his fast bowling, but the last few seasons have not been good for him. In the intra-squad match of KKR, he made a comeback with a bang by bowling lethal bowling against the Purple Knights. In this match, Karthik saved 12 runs and led his team to victory on the last ball. 3 runs were needed on their last ball, but while trying to take two runs, Rahul Tripathi was run out and Golden Knights won the match through run out on the last ball.

Karthik took three wickets in one over
Karthik Tyagi bowled lethally in this match till the last ball and took three wickets in a single over. He bowled brilliantly and turned the match towards the Golden Knights. In this match, he took 3 wickets for 35 runs in 3 overs. Rachin Ravindra became the first victim of Karthik and after this he took the wicket of Sarthak Ranjan and he ended the match by taking the third wicket of Rahul Tripathi.
