The Dilip Trophy 2025-26 tournament is coming near one day. The tournament will start from August 28 and will be played till 15 September. After the announcement of the North Zone squad, the Central Zone squad has also been declared, the captaincy of which has been handed over to Dhruv Jurlel, who was seen wicketkeeping in Manchester and Oval Test on England tour in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Rajat Patidar and Kuldeep Yadav have also got a place in the team, but Karun Nair has not got a place.
There is still a situation of doubt on the playing of Rajat Patidar, as they will need clearance on fitness from the Center of Excellence before playing in the tournament. Dhruv Jurlel has received the captaincy gift to perform well for India A team on England Tour. In two unofficial Tests, Jurael scored 227 runs at an average of more than 75.
Karun Nair’s exit from the team is a shocking decision, as he scored 863 runs in the last Ranji Trophy season. However, his performance on the England tour was disappointing, where he was able to score 205 runs in 8 innings at an average of just 25.
The Central Zone team has been prepared by mixing a good mix of batting and bowling. Apart from Dhruv Jurael, Rajat Patidar and Aryan Juyal, Sanchit Desai is also present in the batting. In the bowling, the team will have experience of Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav and Khalil Ahmed.
Central Zone Squad: Dhruv Jurael (captain and wicketkeeper), Rajat Patidar, Aryan Juyal, Danish Malewar, Sanchit Desai, Kuldeep Yadav, Aditya Thackeray, Deepak Chahar, Summary Jain, Ayush Pandey, Shubham Sharma, Yash Rathore, Harsh Dubey, Manav Suthar, Khalil Ahmed
