Kejriwal-Sisodia acquitted in Delhi Excise Policy case, CBI will challenge the decision in High Court

Rouse Avenue Court has acquitted all the accused including former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in a CBI case related to the Delhi Excise Policy scam. The court said that no evidence was found against Manish Sisodia. The court said that no substance was found in the allegations made by CBI, no criminal conspiracy was found. CBI is not satisfied with this decision of Rouse Avenue Court and will challenge it in Delhi High Court.

What did the judge say?
During the hearing in Rouse Avenue Court, questions were raised on the CBI charge sheet. The judge said that the documents given by CBI do not match the charge sheet. The judge expressed his displeasure that he had not even been given a copy of the confessional statement yet. I expect honesty from the CBI lawyer. The judge said – “I was also concerned that words like South Group were used. This is not right. If CBI had filed the same charge sheet in Chennai, would it have written South Group? Who coined this word?

What did Kejriwal say?
Former Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal cried after being acquitted by the Rouse Avenue court. He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party was accusing us. Today the court rejected all the charges and acquitted all the accused. We always said that truth prevails. We have faith in the judicial system. Truth prevailed.”

what did the lawyer tell
Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer Vivek Jain said, “The special court of Rouse Avenue has acquitted all the accused in the excise scam. They have acquitted all the accused after all the evidence and all the statements were seen by the court. They accepted that there is no charge against Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. The CBI’s allegation was that the policy that was made was completely manipulated and fake documents were added to it.”
