Kesari 2 Movie release live updates: Akshay Kumar has made a comeback on the silver screen with the film ‘Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh’. This film has been released in theaters on April 18, 2025 today. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, this historic court room drama Akshay Kumar’s character is based on lawyer C. Shankaran Nair, who fights the British Empire to highlight the truth about the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh murder case.
R. in the film Madhavan plays the role of British lawyer Neville McCinley and Ananya Pandey is in the lead role of lawyer Dilrit Gill, who supports the fight against Nair against injustice. ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ is a sequel to Akshay’s 2019 film ‘Kesari’ and is based on Raghu Pet and Pushpa Pet’s book ‘The Case that Shuk The Empire’.
Earned crores in advance booking
The film had become quite on the trailer of ‘Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh’. Due to which it has also been well received by a good advance booking. According to the data of Caiknilk, advance booking of more than 56 thousand 969 tickets has been done on the first day of Kesari 2. Due to which the film has grossed 1.84 crores without block seats. At the same time, ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ has collected Rs 3 crore in advance booking with block seats.
Many leaders including CM were involved in special screening in Delhi
Prior to its release, a special screening of the film was held in Delhi, in which political leaders and many people attended. Where Akshay Kumar requested the audience, he should not use the phone to take full enjoyment of the film. At the same time, in the initial review, Akshay Kumar’s performance has been praised and it has been described as his best performance so far.
