KFC, Macdonald’s counter should not be crowded … people raging in India due to Trump’s tariff

Us brands boycott: US President Donald Trump has imposed 50 percent tariff on India. Out of these, a baseline tariff of 25 percent was imposed. Then 25 percent extra tariff was imposed as a penalty for the purchase of oil from Russia. Many big multinational American companies are facing this aggressive attitude of Trump on the tariff. People in India are now on the way to boycott the products made by these companies.

Baba Ramdev demanded a boycott

It was first called by Indian Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. He recently said in an interview that American brands should be fully boycotted after the US decision to impose 50 percent tariffs on Indian products. Let us tell you that Baba Ramdev has about 3 million followers on Instagram.

Emphasis being given on self -proclaimed products

According to the report of The Economic Times, Baba Ramdev has said in his statement, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Subway, KFC or McDonald’s counters should not be seen as a single Indian. They should be boycotted on a large scale. He further said, “If this happens, there will be a ruckus in America.” Not only Baba Ramdev alone, but there is anger among the leaders and ministers in India to the ground level workers and traders about this decision of Trump. In view of this, the leaders of the country have emphasized the matter of becoming self -sufficient by eliminating dependence on American products.

Impact also visible in many other countries

Trump’s tariff has fallen on many countries like France, United Kingdom and Canada, not on India alone. In these countries too, American products are now giving much less priority than before. The maximum dependence on these is less and less. We are buying less things made by American companies. This is obviously damaging the profits of American companies.

If people in India with a population of about 1.5 billion now start boycotting American products, then they can create major challenges for American companies working in India. From above, in recent times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also urged Indians to avoid foreign products and buy only ‘produced’ products in India. PM Modi had said, “My government will never let small businessmen, farmers and cattle rearers be harmed.” No matter how much pressure comes on us, we will continue to strengthen our ability to face it. ”
