Nation Building: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday (March 25) made a big statement about the safety of minorities in India. He said that minorities in the country are completely safe and on the contrary, the truth of those who spread false rumors should be revealed. He also emphasized that minority communities have always played an important role in nation building and will continue to play even further.
Riziju was addressing the National Conference of State Minorities Commissions organized by the National Minorities Commission (NCM). Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047’, he said that participation of all communities is necessary in furthering the country and the minority community will play an important role in this direction. He said that the aim of the government is to give equal opportunities to all citizens so that they can contribute to the development of the nation.
Statement on population during Haj Sammelan
Referring to his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, Kiren Rijiju said that ministers of 80 countries were present during the Haj Sammelan. During this, an Indonesia minister said that he has the largest Muslim population in the world in his country. To this, Rijiju replied that if there is a census in India, then it is possible that the population of Muslims could be more than Indonesia. However, he also said that exact figures are not available yet because the 2021 census could not be done due to Kovid epidemic.
Minorities are safe under the constitution
Rijiju stressed that India is a democratic and constitution based country where all religions and communities have equal rights. He said that the governance of the country is operated by the Constitution, which ensures the safety of all citizens. He appealed that the misleading information being spread about the status of minorities in India should not be taken care of and the truth should be recognized.
