Government schemes are continuously bringing color towards making the farmers of the country financially strong. In this episode, the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme is proving to be a lifeline for millions of farmers. On Saturday, an information was shared on the social media platform ‘X’ by the office of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, which said that so far more than 4.65 crore KCC application of farmers has been approved.
What is a farmer credit card?
KCC i.e. Kisan Credit Card is such a banking means through which farmers get loans on easy terms to meet all the needs related to farming. With this, farmers can buy essential things like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and can also meet the expenses incurred during farming on time.
This scheme is especially beneficial for small and middle class farmers, who often got caught in the clutches of usurers. Through KCC, farmers are now directly connecting with the bank and getting loans at an affordable rate according to their needs.
4.65 crore farmers got direct benefit
According to the information given by the government, so far the KCC application of more than 4 crore 65 lakh farmers has been approved. This means that these farmers have received loans from the bank at cheap rates for farming, due to which their income is expected to increase.
