A total of 75 patients were admitted to the ‘Government Medical College’ (GMC) Hospital here after large -scale cloudburst in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir and one of them died during treatment, while four others remain ‘serious’.

According to the official data released from the hospital on Sunday, in addition, 11 bodies and one part of the body from the village affected by cloudburst and a body was also brought to the hospital morgue and later after completing medical formalities, they were handed over to their families.

61 people died due to cloudburst

On August 14, 61 people were killed in a cloudburst in the village Chisoti falling on the way to the Machail Mata temple, most of whom were devotees. More than 100 people were injured in this incident and 50 others went missing.

According to the data, GMC operated 24 out of 75 patients and one of them (35 -year -old Ashok Kumar of Vijaypur area of Samba district) died on 16 August.

Out of 47 patients admitted, the condition of 47 patients is critical

The hospital said that the condition of four of the 47 patients admitted here is critical. 20 patients were discharged, three escaped and four other medical advice left the hospital.

More than a dozen vehicles were damaged

This accident occurred due to cloudburst in Chashoti, a remote hill village in Kishtwar district. At the time when the accident took place, a large number of people gathered there to visit the Machail Mata temple. The yatra started on 25 July and was to end on 5 September.

Apart from this temple, more than 10 residential houses, six government buildings, two other temples, four windmills, a bridge and more than a dozen vehicles were damaged in the sudden floods in the villages and low -lying areas.
