Often people consider kissing as just a way of expressing love, but do you know that kissing provides many benefits from stress to our heart, mind and body. This may sound a little different, but many researches have found that a true and loving kiss can be helpful in everything from reducing stress to improving heart health. So let us know whether kissing each other reduces stress and how does it work?

Does kissing really reduce stress?

In today’s busy life, almost every person is struggling with some kind of stress or the other. Work pressure, responsibilities and personal life problems affect the mind. In such a situation, a lovely kiss can help in reducing stress. When we kiss our partner, certain hormones are released in our brain. Like oxytocin, it is also called love hormone. It increases familiarity and connection. Second, dopamine, it gives a feeling of happiness and excitement and third, serotonin, it improves the mood. Due to the increase of these hormones, the level of stress hormone cortisol present in the body starts decreasing, that is, if your day has been full of fatigue and stress, then a true and loving kiss can calm your mind.

How does this work?

According to some studies, kissing causes the blood vessels to dilate slightly, which improves blood flow. This helps in controlling blood pressure, the risk of heart related problems has been seen to be slightly less in them. You can also get relief from headache. Kissing gives signals to the brain. After receiving the signal in the brain, it activates the reward system, which makes us feel good. Love and happy hormones are released, and when happiness hormones increase, the stress hormone cortisol present in the body starts decreasing. When cortisol is high, we feel stressed, irritable and tired. But during kissing its level decreases, due to which the mind becomes light and calm.
