Kohli wrote emotional Farewell Note, said- Thank you for making my work easy

Cheteshwar Pujara has retired from all formats of cricket. Virat Kohli has given this batsman auspicious for the future. Kohli believes that Pujara made his work easy on many occasions.

Virat Kohli wrote on the Instagram story on Tuesday, “Thank you Pujji (Cheteshwar Pujara) for making my work easy. Your career has been fantastic. Congratulations and best wishes for the future. God should do good to you.”

Cheteshwar Pujara supported the Indian team for about one and a half decades. Pujara contributed significantly to the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

The Saurashtra batsman scored 521 runs in seven innings and flown the Australian fast bowlers. India won the series 2–1. This was Team India’s first Test series win on Australian soil. Often Kohli has credited the success of that series to Cheteshwar.

This pair was very important during India’s dominance in Test cricket under Kohli’s captaincy. Both together added 3,513 runs in 83 innings. There were seven centuries and 18 half-century partnerships between the Kohli-Pujara pair. The pair often proved to be the backbone of India’s middle order batting.

Cheteshwar Pujara made his debut for India in October 2010. His performance in Test format was excellent. The right -handed batsman scored 7,195 runs in 176 innings of 103 matches with an average of 43.60, including 19 centuries and 35 half -centuries. Apart from this, Pujara also played five ODIs for India.

After the announcement of retirement, Cheteshwar Pujara said that he had been considering it for about a week. He also talked to family and fellow players regarding his decision.

Pujara admits that he has a lot of memories associated with Team India, which cannot be forgotten. Along with this, Pujara considers himself lucky that he shared the dressing room with players like Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag.
