The dispute between famous Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu and his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya seems to be ending soon. Actually, recently Kumar Sanu had filed a defamation claim against his ex-wife, now he has won in this case. In this case, the High Court has set a limit for Rita Bhattacharya to say anything against the singer. Due to which now she will not be able to give any controversial interview.
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted interim relief to Kumar Sanu in the defamation case which he had filed last year. Sanu had alleged that several interviews given by his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya had damaged his image. Justice Milind Jadhav ordered that Rita Bhattacharya and certain independent media platforms be restrained from writing, speaking, posting, publishing or broadcasting any allegedly defamatory, false or offensive material about Sanu or his family.
Kumar Sanu is now very happy after the decision in his favor in this case. While talking to Hindustan Times, Kumar Sanu said, ‘I am thankful to the Honorable Bombay High Court and my lawyer Sana Raees Khan for restoring my dignity. My dedication is the result of my years of hard work. My family should never have suffered because of those derogatory statements which damaged my reputation and our honor.
Let us tell you that Kumar Sanu’s ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya had accused him in some of her interviews that the singer had misbehaved with her during her pregnancy. They were not given food and were also not allowed to take medical care. Sanu’s legal team has denied these allegations and called them false. The lawsuit also states that their 2001 divorce agreement stipulated that neither party would press charges against the other and Rita had broken this contract.
It is noteworthy that Kumar Sanu and Rita Bhattacharya were married in 1986. But both of them separated from each other after just seven years of marriage. At that time Kumar Sanu was accused of extra marital affair. After which both of them got divorced in the year 2001. Both of them also have a son, Jaan Kumar Sanu.
