It is believed that these tilak made of white sandalwood and red kumkum represent the holy nerves of Lord Vishnu, Eda and Pingala.
The year Mandap is decorated on the theme of Lord Tirupati Balaji. The view of the pavilion appears to be like a golden palace, which is specially designed.
A grand statue of Bappa is installed here every year since 1934. The famous Lalbagcha Raja Ganesh Mandal of Mumbai will celebrate its 92nd year Ganeshotsav this year.
Lalbagh area of Mumbai used to be a settlement of fishermen. People here were demanding a permanent market for a long time but it was not being fulfilled. Even after all the efforts, when he failed, these workers and the locals together installed the statue of Ganpati Bappa here for the first time and asked for a vow, which was fulfilled.
