Laps in security of CM Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh Yadav also expressed concern, action against an officer

The concerned Municipal Corporation supervisor has been suspended for alleged security lapse during Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Gorakhpur. An official confirmed this on Sunday. Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has expressed his concern for the general public by raising the issue of lapse in security of the Chief Minister.

According to official sources, Chief Minister Gorakhnath had arrived to inaugurate the overbridge on Friday evening and moments after getting down from the car, a cow reached near his car. After this the security personnel took immediate action.

According to officials, the Chief Minister’s car stopped at the venue and local BJP MP Ravi Kishan got down first, followed by Adityanath. Within a few seconds of the Chief Minister alighting, a cow ran towards the vehicle and started moving towards him. Vigilant security personnel immediately formed a cordon, stopped the cow and chased it away, resulting in no damage.

Municipal corporation supervisor suspended

Officials say that in the preliminary investigation of this incident, negligence has been found on the part of Municipal Corporation Supervisor Arvind Kumar, who has been suspended. He was responsible for monitoring the municipal system in the area. The incident came to light after a video circulated on social media on Sunday. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sograwal then ordered an internal inquiry to find out how the cow broke the security cordon.

Any type of lapse related to VVIP security will not be tolerated – Municipal Commissioner

The Municipal Commissioner said that any kind of lapse related to VVIP security will not be tolerated and the arrangements will be reviewed and made more stringent to prevent recurrence of such incidents. Officials said that during VVIP visits, complete security of the route and the venue is ensured.

This is the third incident of lapse in security of CM Yogi

This is the third incident of lapse in security of the Chief Minister in the last 17 days. Earlier, on December 2, during the Kashi-Tamil Sangam program in Varanasi, a drunken person had broken the security cordon. On December 4, during the Chief Minister’s visit to Gorakhpur airport, a bus had entered the restricted warning area.

Meanwhile, SP chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav expressed concern over the matter and posted on “X”, “If there is negligence in the security of the Chief Minister, then what can we talk about the safety and security of the common people under BJP rule.”
