Farmers of Bihar, who have been badly affected by floods and heavy rains of August 2025, can now breathe a sigh of relief. The Agriculture Department of the state government has started the process of online application under the ‘Agricultural Input Grant Scheme 2025’. At present, farmers of 577 panchayats of 64 blocks of 14 districts will get the benefit of this scheme.

The government has made it clear that the same farmers will be eligible for this scheme, who have suffered 33% or more loss of crops. The grant amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the farmers. That is, farmers will not have to visit government offices.

How much will the grant get?

  • Unirrigated (Barani) Area: Rs 8,500 per hectare
  • Irrigated Area: Rs 17,000 per hectare
  • Eternal/multi -year crops (eg sugarcane): Rs 22,500 per hectare
  • Unirrigated Area: 1,000 rupees
  • Irrigated area: 2,000 rupees
  • Multi -year crops: 2,500 rupees

Which districts can apply?

This scheme has been implemented in the districts where there was a huge devastation due to the August floods. These include Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Katihar, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Patna, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Munger, Saran, Samastipur, Madhepura and Sheikhpura. The last date to apply has been kept on 5 September 2025.

Rayat Kisan: Updated LPC/rent receipt (2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25)
Non-Raiyat Kisan: Self-proclaimed certificate (verified by ward member and agricultural coordinator) This form is available on DBT portal.

Who can take advantage?

All registered ryots and non-casual farmers can take advantage of this scheme. The farmer family means husband, wife and minor child. The Aadhaar verification of the family will be necessary at the time of application. If any type of disturbance is found, the application will be rejected.
