Garima Saikia Garg, wife of late singer Zubeen Garg, immersed his ashes in the Brahmaputra river on Wednesday. Garg’s sister Palmi Borthakur and family members were also present with him.

Zubeen died in an accident while scuba diving in Singapore on September 19, 2025. The cause of his death is said to be suffocation in water. However, CBI and CID of Assam are investigating the death of Zubeen Garg.

Many cinema hall owners have also come forward to pay tribute to the artiste who played an important role in reviving Assamese cinema in the last two decades.
