Upendra Kushwaha’s party (RLM) MLA Madhav Anand has once again given a big statement regarding the prohibition law implemented in Bihar. On Wednesday (February 25, 2026), he said that I have been presenting my views through the House and media for three-four days. I think there is no need to talk too much about this now. Wait a bit. Popular Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar will review. I have full confidence. Because everyone has demand. It is a matter related to public interest.
On this question, Congress people are saying that the liquor prohibition law itself should be abolished. To this, Madhav Anand replied, “Look… this will be known only when there is a detailed review… All the people for and against the liquor ban had unanimously supported it… So only when there is a detailed review will we know… After this, whether the prohibition should continue or there is a need to end it… Or the law should be made more difficult… The decision will be taken only after a detailed review. As far as the demand of the Congress people is concerned, I think they should also wait a little.”
‘The liquor ban law was reviewed in the past also’
The media told Madhav Anand that it seems that the government is not serious on this. Because this demand has been made many times. Responding to this he said that good governance is Babu’s government. Whenever any law is made, the Chief Minister has been reviewing it. It is not that the prohibition law has not been reviewed in the past. Many amendments have also been made in the law. This time I have talked about a detailed review. If there is a detailed review, all aspects will be discussed. It would also be clear that this is not what the law requires.
It seems that JDU has become isolated. Because Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha, BJP have all united on this issue. On this he said that the NDA clan is united. There is no difference. There is neither difference of opinion nor discord. We have demanded. Wait for some time. Certainly the Chief Minister will review this. I have full confidence. Now it remains to be seen what Chief Minister Nitish Kumar does. Because JDU has already made it clear that there will be no delay from anywhere. The law will remain in force.
