An earthquake of 5.7 magnitude occurred in Leh region of Ladakh on Monday morning. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake was recorded at 11:51:14 am (IST). The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 171 kilometers from the ground. According to NCS, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at latitude 36.71 degrees north and longitude 74.32 degrees east. This area comes under Leh, Ladakh.
No news of loss of life or property
At present there is no information about any loss of life or property after the earthquake. The local administration is keeping an eye on the situation. This earthquake in Ladakh has been recorded at a time when seismic activities have also been seen in the neighboring regions of South and South-East Asia in recent times.
Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi also
A mild earthquake was felt in Delhi on Monday morning. Its intensity was measured at 2.8 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in North Delhi. According to NCS, the earthquake was recorded at 8:44 am on Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake was very close to the ground surface, whose depth is said to be only 5 kilometers.

An earthquake of 4.0 magnitude was recorded in Afghanistan on Sunday evening. According to NCS, this earthquake occurred on January 18 at 8:30 pm (IST) at a depth of 10 kilometers. Earlier on Sunday morning, January 18, another earthquake of 4.1 magnitude had occurred in Afghanistan, which was recorded at 7:05:58 am (IST) at a depth of 10 kilometers. Apart from this, on January 15, an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude occurred in Afghanistan, the depth of which was said to be 96 kilometers.
