There are very few father-son duos in cricket who have made a good mark in international cricket. Perhaps there is no such place where the playing style of both father and son seems to be similar. This nature is visible in Virender Sehwag and his son Aryaveer Sehwag. In the Delhi vs Bihar match in the Cooch Behar Trophy, Aryaveer Sehwag played an important role in his team’s victory by playing a powerful inning of 72 runs by destroying the bowlers.

Delhi team came to bat first, for which Aryaveer Sehwag played an inning of 72 runs in 120 balls. He hit 14 fours in his innings. After that, captain Pranav Pant put the Delhi team in a strong position by playing an inning of 89 runs in 141 balls. There was a partnership of 147 runs between Aryaveer and Pant in the first innings.

Delhi had scored 278 runs in the first innings, after which the team’s bowlers played brilliantly and bowled out Bihar for 125 runs. After taking a lead of 153 runs in the first innings, Delhi made Bihar follow on. In Indian domestic cricket, when a team gets a lead of more than 150 runs in the first innings, it can force follow-on to the opposition team. However, in international cricket the rule of follow on is for a lead of more than 200 runs.

Bihar scored 205 runs in the second innings, after which Delhi got the target of only 53 runs in the fourth innings. Delhi team easily achieved this target at the loss of only 2 wickets. In the second innings, Aryaveer Sehwag returned unbeaten after scoring 27 runs, in this innings he hit 4 fours. Sehwag scored a total of 99 runs in both the innings.
